Report Back – Co Springs Justice 4 Jesse Rally

The Colorado Springs Proud Boys have been laying low since their embarrassing attempt at holding a rally in Boulder back in June. They’ve been hassling the Socialists, at a brewery because of course, but not much more than that.

The Chalkboard at the Smiling Toad.
Martin Moyles (L) and John Sexton (R)

Just some dudes, grabbing beers and photographing members of a political party. If their Facebook conversations are any indication, they were probably discussing some real cool stuff.

We feel kind of bad, because the Colorado Springs Socialists seem to be getting all this attention because of the stuff we’ve been getting up to. Sorry comrades! Unfortunately, the Proud Boys didn’t limit their harassment campaign to local political parties. They pulled out all the stops and decided to show up at the July 16th Black Lives Matter rally for Jesse Garcia, who was murdered a year ago by a racist asshole named Jack Rogers. No charges were ever filed, and event organizers have been circulating a petition to have Colorado Springs District Attorney, Dan May take action. He won’t, because he is a bougie piece of shit, but we can pretend we live in an actual democracy.

As Anti-Fascists we stand in solidarity with groups like Black Lives Matter, who advocate, very simply, for white people to stop killing black people. It’s not some kind of unreasonable request. We shared their event on social media and encouraged folks to attend. Some of us showed up in solidarity, but it wasn’t an anti-fascist event. It was an event by and for the black community of Colorado Springs, to mourn a senseless death and call for justice. It was a somber day of remembrance. We didn’t show up in black bloc, we weren’t there to agitate or cause problems, we were there to support our community.

So of course this was an appropriate time for the Proud Boys, and Martin “I-am-literal-shit” Meyers to show up in American flag capes and baseball helmets, with support from the fucking III%ers of course, in an attempt to intimidate the Colorado Springs Anti-Fascists and NAACP members and their supporters. They decided not to come across the street and disrupt the actual rally at City Hall, but community members, rightfully outraged at their lack of tact and basic human decency, followed them to Acacia park and confronted them.

A few of these toolbars wore helmets. What exactly were they expecting? Why do they show up to things prepared for violence?

As soon as they were actually confronted by people who were, rightfully, upset with their bullshit they called the cops, and CSPD escorted these brave patriots from the park.

When he isn’t having racist FB chats with fellow Proud Boys or harassing political parties and Black Lives Matter rallies, John Sexton works for Paradigm Labor Services (A proud Western chauvinist who landscapes civilization).

We think Martin Meyers may have just moved down to the Springs. Let us know if you see him around.

Fuck these guys.

The Ancaps of Colorado – Josh Miller

In previous posts we’ve looked at some of the leaders of the Colorado Against ANTIFA/Communism group, which impotently conspired to thwart the red menace that is the immortal science of Marxism-Leninism. Today we’ll take a look at the founder of the group, Josh Miller.

Miller started the Ancap FB group, but from the beginning he wanted it to be a coalition. Witch hunts just aren’t fun by yourself, right?

Mutual interests include bad hats, questionable economics, and a hatred of commies.
Another one of those “dangerous interactions with Antifa” that can’t be substantiated. Is there another Antifa group in Co Springs that is terrifying white dudes? But also we’re weak and afraid of them? So weak you need to form a coalition of everyone to the right of the Clintons to stop us? LOL.

Miller is able to stoke the fires of useful idiots like Meyers with hyperbolic rhetoric.

30-50 of us?! The fact that we’ve been able to make all the bearded white dudes in Colorado wet themselves with the numbers we actually have is incredible. If we had 30-50 people Colorado Springs would have already been collectivized. Also, more ironic racism, which is totally to trigger snowflakes and doesn’t have anything to do with anyone’s actual worldview.

Again, some Ancaps question Miller’s motives and embrace the sanctity of the NAP.

Joel, if you ever want to hang outside a golf club hit us up! We’re down. Just leave the cheesy yellow and black flag at home.

Miller’s claims about not instigating violence (in a Facebook group predicated on instigating violence) are frequently contradicted by his own statements.

So, as anarchists we’re all about “No Gods No Masters.” Fuck the cops, fuck these Ancap assholes, and fuck the stolen valor blowhards in the patriot movement, but it still might be a good idea to keep the names of 1%er Motorcycle Clubs out of your mouth.

This, of course, isn’t a new thing in this group. Antifa and communists are such a huge threat that these idiots will consider working with any extremist organization, as long as it is right-wing extremism.

In the confusion surrounding the June 10th “March Against Sharia,” a member of the group, Nate Pitsch, actually suggests using his contacts in Neo-Nazi groups for security.

To be fair to Josh Miller, he decided to jump ship a week before the June 10th event. Realizing that this reactionary group he created to fight antifa and communism was attracting and galvanizing nationalists, racists, and violent people who were a threat to the community (you know, THE *EXACT* SHIT WE’VE BEEN TRYING TO WARN Y’ALL ABOUT THIS WHOLE DAMN TIME), he decided to call it quits.

The right trying to instigate people? SHOCKING!

Of course, the walking “My Dad’s A Lawyer” Memes who are the Proud Boys helped cement Josh’s decision.

We couldn’t agree more.
Josh has seen the light.

Life comes at you fast, Josh. If only someone had told you that the Alt-Right was made up of the worst elements of American society. You saw it for yourself first hand, and hopefully you remember that before you try to make any more Facebook groups.

The Ancaps of Colorado – Mike Morris

In our last update we looked at how a coalition of ancaps, more or less led by Martin Meyers, came together (voluntarily! very important) to fight what they saw as the most pressing threat to the American way of life: communists! This “better dead than red” club seems to have been formed partially at the behest of Colorado Springs’ Mike Morris.

The Socialists are mean. I mean maybe, Martin Meyers can’t provide any proof of the harassment (like creating a FB group to target a political party), BUT IT DEFINITELY HAPPENED.

Colorado Springs seems to be infected by Shrodinger’s Leftists, who are both weak, sniveling, SJWs, who can be bested at any legitimate manly contest, and at the same time terrifying, mean, violent threats to everyone’s existence. Mike Morris, traumatized by the deranged leftists, reached out to Denver ancap Martin Meyers for a safe space where his ideas wouldn’t be challenged.

Like Meyers, Morris seems to be entirely motivated by a desire to counter the socialists. He’s built the small far-left community in Colorado Springs into some kind of terrifying straw man that he will stop at nothing to tear down, primarily through his newspaper, The Front Range Voluntaryist.

How’s that forceful removal going? Again, no actual proof of threats.

The mean socialists yelled at him! Now he needs to get every right-leaning asshole in Colorado to come to his aid. Last time we checked, yelling and refusing to engage in a debate doesn’t violate the Non-Aggression Principle (NAP), but we’re not ancaps so maybe there is a technicality somewhere that justifies targeting a group on the other side of the political spectrum with force?

Mike’s response to any action taken by anyone whose political barometer is left-of-center seems to be outrage.

How dare socialists talk to people! At a bar of all places! (The Burrowing Owl is a great place to go for vegan food, btw. 10/10 despite the owner’s libertarian bent, they are good ancaps who don’t go out of their way to persecute commies)
Even helping the poor is a bad thing, somehow.
There *is* a technicality with the NAP! It doesn’t apply to communists. Darn.

Morris tried to blame the actions some concerned citizens took against the Proud Boys on Gabriel Palcic, who is usually too busy ironing his Che Guevara shirts and practicing pretentious political discourse to actually hit the streets and wheat paste with the likes of us.

Aside from supporting the ancap coalition of anticom keystone cops, Mike takes to twitter to post unhinged rants against leftists. It’s not all bad though:

We approve of this message.

He does seem to have a good grasp of our organization though:

We can’t argue with this one.

Unfortunately it quickly devolves into the mire of racism, homophobia, and misogyny that has come to characterize the alt-right.

Someone at Daily Stormer is reading this and adding the “((( )))” in their heads right now.
Racism isn’t a problem, duh.
Because reverse discrimination is a thing.

But dude is definitely not racist.

“It’s just a joke/observation/ironic statement and not in any way indicative of my actual worldview, lol”
Actually, we think racism IS violence (ex. white supremacists infiltrate law enforcement offices and disproportionately kill people of color while never being prosecuted for it).

Also dude has real problems with LGBTQ folks:

They’re called bears, Mike, and they rule.
Remember: Ancom parties are lit af.

But what can you expect from someone who is a fan of homophobic economists:

We suggest everyone use the government-subsidized, LGBTQ-friendly Keynes’ kits.

We realize this may come as a shock, but dude also has a thing against feminists:

“Everything that supports my position of power and privilege is value free.”

Also the poor:

If Socialists (a non-government agency) tries to feed the poor it’s bad. If the government tries to feed the poor it’s also bad.

And apparently children too:

Spoken like a true Rothbard reader.

Morris plays guitar for Colorado Springs band Justice Blocc. They’re an Oi! band, a genre with a bit of a checkered reputation in the punk community. Some Oi! bands, like Skrewdriver, have a reputation for overt racism and nationalism. Some don’t and are good people. Groups like SHARP are kind of the Oi! equivalent of Anti-Fascists and work to police their scenes against reactionary forces. Justice Blocc isn’t overtly racist, despite Morris’ own sketchy views, but they have played shows with the Nazi band Total Annihilation.

Fascists of a feather, and all that. Check back for more about the ancaps of Colorado!

The Ancaps of Colorado – Martin Meyers

Anarcho-Capitalists are like that guy you had a crush on in high school. Your friends all hated him, and even you knew he was kind of a douche, but every so often he would drop some tiny morsel of affection and you would overlook the glaring red flags. You marry him hoping he will change, but after years of emotional and physical abuse he comes home after being fired from his job at the foundry and murders you and your children before taking his own life.

Anarcho-Capitalists (Ancaps) are the black and yellow sheep of the anarchist family. Unlike the other branches of anarchism, Ancaps are only concerned about oppression and hierarchies when it comes from the government or the state. They are less anarchists and more anti-statists. They’re fine with oppression, discrimination, and rigid hierarchies when it springs from an economic basis. They embrace capitalism and suckle at the teat of Ayn Rand and Murray Rothbard the way Anarcho-Communists (Ancoms) love Marx and Lenin. Ancaps are often in favor of a stateless society, which we love. They often support things like Balkanization, secession, and the elimination of government above the county level (if that!), which gets us all excited. Unfortunately, they eventually start talking about economics and our eyes kind of glaze over and we look around quickly, hoping no one we know has seen us associating with these rubes.

As Anti-Fascists we try to stay out of politics, but as we all know the personal is political and vice versa. Most of us here at Springs Anti-Fascists are black flag anarchists, some are tankie ancoms, but most of what we do is community self-defense against, as our name implies, fascism. Being a Trump supporter or an evangelical Christian might make you an asshole, but it doesn’t make you a fascist. Being a supporter of small government and individual rights definitely doesn’t make you a fascist. Unfortunately ancaps, despite their small government, individual liberty ethos have no problem whatsoever collaborating with actual fascists. We’ve seen it again and again.

Here in Colorado Springs the Ancaps have a newspaper, The Front Range Voluntaryist, which expounds their philosophy in much the same way the Socialists do with theirs, The Rocky Mountain Revolution. There has been a feud between the two groups for a while, which most of us at Springs Anti-Fascists have observed with disinterest. One group wants to replace the state with corporate oppression, the other with collective oppression. While one group’s oppression might actually improve people’s material conditions, it’s still a choice between two evils.

The ancaps decided to escalate their silly feud with the socialists by attempting to intimidate the socialists at one of their public meetings last month. A group of about 10-15 ancaps showed up outside Iron Bird Brewing with the intention of having some sort of confrontation with the socialists.

The physical intimidation of opposing political parties is kind of a hallmark of fascism, so we decided to look into this. The socialists are a bunch of bougie, craft beer-drinking armchair revolutionaries who aren’t willing to risk confrontation, but we sure are.

The ancaps have a closed Facebook group where they mostly complain about communists and share bad memes. Despite their claims of respect for individual liberty, they seem really bothered by the prospect of people finding an economic system more viable and efficient than capitalism. The group is led by a dude named Martin Meyers, a Denver-based Starbucks barista who has to bum rides down to the Springs (the efficiencies of the free market!). Most ancaps ascribe to what they call the “Non-Aggression Principle” (NAP), which is essentially live and let live. As long as no one violates the NAP, everyone should get along. You would think a bunch of bros drinking overpriced IPAs and talking about Marx in an increasingly-gentrifying part of town wouldn’t violate the NAP, right? Not according to Meyers:

Any actual ancaps who try to call him out on his bullshit get booted from the group:

He doesn’t like aggressive tactics… like showing up en masse outside of a political party’s meeting?
Props to the ancap paraphrasing Shakespeare and calling out their comrades on bullshit.

The dudes who support Meyers and his terrible ideas are typical fascists:

“Deus Vult” is the rallying cry of the Islamophobic, Christian wing of the alt-right. Kenyon George brought home no souvenirs, btw.
Unless carting Meyers’ no-car-having-ass back to Denver empty-handed is a souvenir?

Not only does Meyers want to stop communism, but he is willing to work with deplorable individuals in order to do so. He helped the Proud Boys organize their shit show in Boulder and he worked with the Proud Boys on the security detail for the “March Against Sharia” (he was so good at organizing the event was almost cancelled).

Alexander Beck is a Denver-area Proud Boy and racist asshole who got suspended from Regis University for his “Social Justice Bake Sale.”

Despite his talk of free-markets, free-speech, and beating down the commies, Meyers public appearances largely consist of him standing behind rows of riot police quietly talking with his fascist buddies.

Meyers on the left, next to Thomas Cuccovia with the Ancap flag.

This is the first in a multi-part series, so be sure to come back for more on the ancaps of Colorado.
